Our Founder
Mikko D. Sperber
Mikko founded Fundamental Strategy, a fundraising and nonprofit management advisory firm, to help mission-driven organizations succeed in an ever-evolving environment. He wanted to build a firm that would partner with organizations to strengthen their core and improve strategic decision-making to ensure they make the most substantial impact in their communities.
Mikko has decades of experience working with nonprofit organizations focused on the performing arts and arts education in Los Angeles and New York, as well as with charter schools in Los Angeles. He has held leadership and staff positions with nonprofit organizations in various industries, including education (Santa Monica Education Foundation and UCLA Anderson School of Management), both the social services and medical sectors (MPTF (Motion Picture & Television Fund)), and both the performing arts and arts education sectors (Will Geer’s Theatricum Botanicum).
Mikko holds a Masters in Leadership, with an emphasis in Nonprofit Management and Philanthropy, from the USC Sol Price School of Public Policy; an executive program certificate in General Management from the UCLA Anderson School of Management; and a Bachelor of Science in Organizational Leadership from Azusa Pacific University.
He is the Vice-President of the Board of Directors of Will Geer’s Theatricum Botanicum.
